Note
The petition dates probably to 1332 when a commission of oyer and terminer was issued to examine the matter (CPR 1301-7, p.86). However this commission states that it was made in response to Dene's complaint, and not that of his attorneys, so it is possibly that the commission was made in response to a subsequent complaint into the same matter made once Dene had returned from royal service.
