Nature of request
1) Richard Danvers requests a remedy concerning the 100s. rent that he and his brother received from Mortimer. The petitioner's father had granted his manor of Wokefield to Mortimer for which Mortimer granted to the petitioner and his brother 100s. rent each which they received until Mortimer's forfeiture. Hungerford the keeper of forfeitures will not allow them to have the rent.2) William Danvers similarly cannot have his 100s. rent and requests remedy.1)
Nature of endorsement
Richard Danvers should show the writing that he has in Chancery, and let faithful men be assigned in the same place to enquire in the presence etc. of the truth of the contents in the petition and other matters and return the inquisition. And if it is found that it is as the petition supposed, and that Mortimer charged that tenement, and that it wasn't held from the king in chief, let it be ordered to the keeper that he should pay Richard Danvers the rent and arrears for the time etc. And if it is held from the king in chief then let justice be done.2) The same process in all be used for William Danvers.
