Nature of request
The commonalty request that the king will end the custom in the county whereby people are arrested by suspicion of a bailiff only, and that they be able to be at the common law and according to the statute of Winchester where people are taken by indictment and suspicion.
Nature of endorsement
The sheriff and coroners are ordered that they should take inquisitions upon these according to the law and custom of the realm. They both by making inquiry and suspicion according to the law and custom of the realm, and according to the form which was made by the statute of Winchester.

The date is not readily identifiable. The guard comment says that it dates to 'temp. Edw. II' on the basis of the SCCKB reference; but there is no justification for this and a date in Edward I's would seem equally plausible.
