Nature of request
Crumbewell requests that the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer be ordered that if they can find by books of the Wardrobe that he is owed a certain sum for horses taken and lost in battle at Stirling (Bannockburn), that they make allowance for this debt in the debt that he owes the king, notwithstanding that Crumbewell does not have the bill of the Wardrobe for it.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that when they have viewed the accounts of the Wardrobe, if they find that the debt is due to Crumbewelle then they are to make allowance to him in the debts that he owes to the king.

The petition clearly dates to 1331 as a writ was issued to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer in accordance with the response to the petition on 15 October 1331 (CCR 1330-3, pp.361-2).
