Crok requests that the king will grant his letters to the abbot of Gloucester or another religious house to provide him with sustenance, and also to grant that he may conclude his suit, which attaint he has sued for 17 years in Gloucestershire against a false inquisition passed against him by a writ of formedon. His wife and children are reduced to begging and he is threatened with imprisonment.

People mentioned
Abbot of Gloucester.
Note
The basis of the date of c. 1325, which is given on the guard of the petition, is a reference to the petitioner in a suit in the Bench. It is not at all clear that this has any direct relevance to this petition so that the date is questionable (CCR 1323-7, p.507). However, no other evidence to confirm this date is available.
