Nature of request
Cotenesse states that he is due wages for his time in the garrison of the castle of Berwick in the time of Edward I as appears by a bill under the seal of the office of the chamberlain of Scotland. He requests that payment be made to him.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the treasurer, barons and chamberlains of the Exchequer that they view what Cotenesse has concerning this debt, and the accounts of those who were chamberlains of Scotland, and if they find that the debt is due then they are to make payment, allowance or assignment as quickly as they can, receiving and charging.
