1) Corbet complains of Bray that he took and sold the keeping and marriage of the heirs of Waws which pertained to him by the gift of the king of the manor of Merston until Beauchamp came of age. He requests a remedy.2) He further complains that Mathia de Stoke recovered 50s. from him in the name of dower from rent which he received in the manor of Wynterburne by gift of the king. He requests that he can vouch the king to warranty.

The charter of gift of the king should be viewed before the chancellor, and according to the tenor of the charter let justice be done.

The petition would appear to date to c. 1285 for Corbet received the grant of the lands referred to in the petition on 16 June 1285, and Mathia de Stoke had acquired the possession of her heir and two parts of the manor of Wynterburn on 1 July 1285 on condition that she rendered the extent for those two parts to Corbet (CPR 1281-92, pp. 175-6, 182).
