Nature of request
The petitioners request:1) The prelates request that the bishops of the province of Canterbury who do not have their temporalities that pertain to their diocese should have them and be able to come to parliament.2) That the vacancy of benefices be tried by prelates and judges of the Church who are able to know the truth on this matter, and not by laymen.3) That when clerks indicted of felony who are handed over to the keeping of the Church escape from that custody, that they are penalised to the sum of £100 against their liberties. They request that they are not penalised.4) For the live prisoners and the dead, to bury them in burial places of the Church.5) They request a suitable response to the articles which are many times given in parliament concerning the franchises and free customs of the Church.
