Compton states that he was attached at Christchurch by Plecy to be brought before the barons, and was delivered to the sheriff of Hampshire, and was imprisoned from Easter week 15 Edward II. He requests the king's grace for his delivery, or that he be able by sufficient mainprise to reside within the town of Winchester where he is imprisoned and purchase his sustenance until he has the grace of the king.1)
