Nature of request
Clavering shows that he has sued against Valence in the Bench by several writs for lands in Norfolk. Valence came into court and said he could not answer without the king and showed a charter of Henry III by which the justices surceased the plea until the king gave his will. He sued in parliament and the treasurer and chancellor were ordered to search their records; although the king was certified of the findings and ordered that justice should be done to the parties, this has still not been done. Clavering requests remedy.

It is ordered to the treasurer and chamberlains that they inspect the rolls of the justices of the King's Bench and the justices of the Bench and certify the justices of the Common Bench.Coram magno consilio.
