Nature of request
Cheverston shows that he and Daune were assigned to elect 300 men in Devon to go to Newcastle to serve as soldiers with the king against his enemies. Cheverston came to the vill of Sutton to choose men and was assaulted by Sampson and others and imprisoned the selected men until they made fines, to Cheverston's damage. He requests remedy.
