- Chalouns shows that during the last Welsh war Colombers sold herrings of store to him and other burgesses for which they paid him. The money is now demanded by a writ under the privy seal. Since he can show that he and the other burgesses have paid the money he requests remedy.
- Nature of endorsement
- It is ordered to the justice of Wales that he should inquire whether this money has been paid and certify the Exchequer, and let a writ be made on this. In the meantime he should have respite.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petition refers to the last war with Wales, and to Matthew de Columbers. Columbers died between January and May 1299, so that a reasonable though speculative date would place this at 1295 (CCR 1296-1302, pp. 229, 251). Rees dates this to 1295-1304, linking it to another similar entry (Petitions Relating to Wales, p.54).
