Nature of request
The merchants show that they are of the lordship of the prince and have been accustomed to trade in Ireland. The merchants with their victuals are arrested by the king's ministers of Ireland and cannot have delivery except by the payment of an outrageous fine to their great damage. They request letters and writs be sent to the justices, chancellor and ministers of Ireland that the merchants should not be arrested, and be allowed to buy goods in Ireland and take them to North Wales and Cheshire without disturbance making the due customs.
