Nature of request
Castelacre shows that he and other scholars of Oxford were indicted of many trespasses and robberies by the council and before the coroner in 1365. He was imprisoned and the bailiffs had 100s. for suit of prison. He was delivered by judgement by the justices, and has sued those responsible but they will not make satisfaction by any writ or letter of the king. He requests that a remedy be ordained.
