The prior shows that whereas Colpeper forfeited . . . tenements in East Farleigh and Loose in Gavelkind in which they were seised from time out of memory as was found by an inquest . . .. The prior requests that the king order a writ out of Chancery to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that they make the tenants of the land pay to him the . . . and customs.
Nature of endorsement
Certain faithful are to be assigned in Chancery to inquire upon the truth of the contents of this petition, and when the inquisition has been returned into Chancery let justice be done there.
