Nature of request
The people show that Potenhale came to Cambridge at feast of the Purification in the previous year and by a commission took their beasts and drove them to London where they were killed, salted and put in a boat for provisioning. The people have sued for payment, but have been delayed because the beasts were not consumed in the Household. They request remedy.
Nature of endorsement
1) Coram magno consilio.2) Let it be ordered to Ferriby, and the treasurer of the Wardrobe, that they summon before them the purveyor, and view the tallies, and if they find that the beasts were taken to the profit of the king then they should do justice to the people. And in case that they were not . . . then they should certify the cause in Chancery.

The petition dates to the period 1338-40 as it refers to de la Zouche as treasurer. The reference to Richard de Ferriby also confirms this as he was treasurer of the Wardrobe until 1337.
