Nature of request
Bush states that Gayetan his predecessor refused to contribute to the tenth placed on the clergy by the pope for which the prebend and sacristry are still charged. Gayetan has refused to come into court to show why he should not pay it, and has made to remove his goods from the realm. Bush requests that since Gayetan still has sufficient goods in England that they be sequestered until he comes to show why he should not be held to pay.
Nature of endorsement
It is ordered to the archbishop of York by a writ of Chancery that he should sequester from the goods of Francis to the value of £18 3s. 4d. saving it to be kept for the arrears of the tithes contained in this petition, and certifying the chancellor without delay.
