Nature of request
The abbot states that he has paid a fine to the king for the vacancy in his house, however the subescheators of the escheators on either side of the Trent have entered the same doing much damage because both claim jurisdiction. The abbot requests that it be ordained which escheator has authority during the next vacancy.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered by writ to both escheators that they are to be before the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer at Westminster one month after Easter, and when the arguments have been heard, further action is to be taken for the profit of the king.
