de Burdeleys, Geoffrey

King and council
Nature of request
Burdeleys shows that he pleaded to judgement John de Calvele for land in Cavelly in the Bench of the king in Easter term 1301. The judgement is still delayed to his great damage. He requests that the king order his justices that they proceed to judgement without further delay.
Nature of endorsement
The justices are ordered that when the council is gathered together they are to proceed to judgement according to the law of the realm.
Places mentioned
Calvele (Cavelly), Norfolk
People mentioned
John de Calvele
Roger Brabazoun (Brabazon)
Note
The petition must date to 1301 and following because the petition refers to the case being pleaded before the justices in the Easter term in the 29th year of Edward I's reign. As the petition is complaining about the delay, one can only assume that some kind of unreasonable time has elapsed, so this may take the petition into the following year.
