The petitioners state that they are executors of Marche, and they request that the king order his steward of Gascony and his constable of Bordeaux or their lieutenants to pay the executors the money due to Marche for the castle and castellan of Talmont which he gave to the king's father so that they can execute Marche's testament.

They are to show their letters in Chancery, and then let the petition be delivered for the council.

The petition can be dated securely to 1324 as a writ de liberate was issued on 26 April to the treasurer and barons to pay the arrears of the sum claimed in the petition (C 62/100 m.3).
