Note
The petition does not give the name of the petitioner as it has been cut from a longer petition. However the petitioner is Richard Oysel who was keeper of Burstwick at about this time. The petition can be dated to 1302 by the inquisitions held in response to another of the petitions that was cut from this entry (CIM 1219-1307, no.1918; SC 8/63/3147). In addition, the petition forms a group of petitions from the same petitioner cut up from a roll submitted to the Summer parliament of 1302 (Cf. SC 8/55/2740, SC 8/63/3147 and SC 8/315/E177).
