- Broghton requests that he be granted the fee of the office of chamberlain and that the king ordain what he wishes to be done with the seal as he resided in Berwick when the king last left Scotland, and was commanded to take the place of chamberlain and to strengthen the town, and in this cause has spent all that he has and borrowed from his friends. He cannot reside there any longer because of hardship. He also requests that it be commanded that he be paid for the money that is due for the money and goods which he lent to the men of the garrison of Berwick in their great hardship, which he has bills for this from the office of the chamberlain of Scotland for.
