Note
The petition can be very closely dated from the internal evidence. The reference to the death of Queen Margaret clearly places this after 1318 in the reign of Edward II, but as it also occurs during John de Erle's tenure as sheriff of Dorset, it must date to the period between 18 June 1325 - 15 October 1326.
