Boys shows that he was vested and seised of the tenements of his father after his death, namely the manor of Theydon Bois, holding it from the Friday next before the feast of the Exaltation of Holy Cross until the Monday next following in the 15th year of the reign of Edward I, when Tany and his brother and many others came and, wrongfully and without judgement with force and arms, ill-treated him and took possession of the manor, damaging the buildings and carrying away the corn to his great damage to £100. He requests relief.
