The abbot requests that he be able to have the lands and tenements of which his church was at sometime enfeoffed and seised by Mowbray and his ancestors which are in the hand of the king, and to hold, use and enjoy in pure and perpetual alms as his predecessors had done until Mowbray by his power wrongfully ejected the abbot's predecessor and detained it all his life and this continued during the life of his son.

Note
The petition can be dated to c. 1322 as the petition refers to the death of John son and heir of Roger de Mowbray who died on 23 March 1322. It would seem likely that the abbot was taking the opportunity of the death of the son to attempt to reclaim the land.
