Nature of request
Bourg shows that certain bounds were established between the towns of Weymouth which was of the inheritance of Bourg, and Melcombe which was lately of the abbot of Cerne. The people of Melcombe enter Weymouth and do not wish to suffer that Bourg's bailiffs are able to take tolls from boats arriving in the port which pertains to Weymouth, and have built houses and have clearly removed the bounds to Bourg's great disinheritance. Bourg requests that the king appoint certain men to enquire of the ancient bounds so that she is not disinherited.

Let certain people men be assigned to enquire upon the things contained in this petition, and when the inquisition has been returned the chancellor is to call those whom he thinks are necessary, and he is to do what is right and reasonable.
