Full description and record details

Reference
SC 8/35/1722
Date
[1330]
Description
Petitioners
Elizabeth de Bourg (Burgh), widow of Roger Damory
Name(s)
de Bourg (Burgh), Elizabeth
Addressees
King
Nature of request
Bourg shows that Edward II is bound to Damory as appears in two bills of the Wardrobe from the time when Northburgh was keeper of the Wardrobe. Bourg is distrained for diverse debts demanded by summons of the Exchequer. Bourg requests that writs be sent to the treasurer, barons and chamberlains of the Exchequer that she be allowed the sums against the debts.
Nature of endorsement
She should show the bills in Chancery, and she should have respite of the debts which are current on the name of Roger, and in the lands which were Roger's until a suitable time.
People mentioned
Edward II, King of England
Roger Damory, late husband of the petitioner
Roger de Northburgh, Keeper of the Wardrobe
Note
The petition probably dates to 1330 for the treasurer and barons were ordered to examine Burgh's writs and to allow the sums on 8 February 1331, and if this is a parliamentary petition, then it was presumably presented in the preceding year.
