Description

Nature of request
Botiller states that he holds the manor of Narborough from the earl of Warwick, and it lies next to the chase of Leicester, which is in the king's hand by the forfeiture of the earl of Lancaster. He and his ancestors have always had rights to do as they will in their wood, and their keepers to make attachments of trespass in the wood, and present them to the court of the manor, and common for him and his tenants in the chase except the parks. Botiller and his tenants are now disturbed by Beller, the keeper of the lands formerly held by the said earl in those parts. Botiller requests that he be able to have the manor and the profits as freely as he and his ancestors had it before.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to Roger Beller by a writ according to the petition etc. that he should permit William to hold his manor in the same manner which he and his predecessors before this time were accustomed to hold it.
