Nature of request
1) Botiller shows that he was condemned by the king in £40 by the procurement of Pargate and others and by the aid of Cypthorp and the great lordship of Despenser alleging that he had sold the king's boat in Brittany, whereas he has not sold the boat as is attested by the duke of Brittany and the lady of Guerande by their letters patent, written out in the petition.2) Botiller requests that the letters of the duke and lady be allowed as they have not been allowed and an inquisition was procured of the king's mariners . . . and he was ordered to prison where he still resides after 3 years.3) Botiller requests that he can be served of the sum which was taken from him for wool as appears by the rolls of the receipt at Westminster.
