Name(s)
de Boresworth (Bosworth), William

Occupation
parson of the church of Bosworth
Nature of request
Boresworth requests that the king grant a commission of oyer and terminer concerning a trespass made against him by Payn and others who took his goods and chattels to the value of £20 from Bosworth against the peace.
Nature of endorsement
He should go to the common law.
Places mentioned
Boresworth (Bosworth), [Leicestershire]
People mentioned
Nicholas Payn de Bosworth
Edmund le Bretoun
Robert Pach
William le Baxtere (Baxter) de Bosworth
Roger de Boudon, Justice
Hugh Prilli, Justice
Walter de Bredon, Justice.
Note
The petition would seem to date to c.1320 which date is based on the guard comments that the justices that the petition suggests should be empanelled occur regularly in the patent rolls for around this date. There seems to be no evidence to discredit this assessment. It certainly cannot be much earlier for it would seem that Boresworth was parson of Kirkby Overblow in the West Riding of Yorkshire in 1316 (CPR 1313-17, p.384).
