John de Bohun of Midhurst, king's bachelor
Name(s)
de Bohun, John
Addressees
King
Nature of request
Bohun states that he demanded by a writ of the king before justices of the Bench against the abbot of Westminster the manor of Denham as his right and inheritance in which the abbot does not have a right after a lease made by John de Bohun, husband of Joan, the petitioner's grandmother, whose heir he is to the Leukeners. The abbot says that the manor was given by Edward I to the abbey for the alms of Queen Eleanor, and that he cannot answer without the king because of which the justices have surceased the plea. Bohun requests that the king order his writ to the justices to proceed with the plea and do justice to the parties according to the law of the land.
