Nature of request
Bohun shows that his father the late earl was seised in demesne as of fee of the castle and land of Builth, of which he died seised in the time of Edward II. Bohun has petition the prince of Wales in whose hands the castle and lands are requesting that he give them to him as his heritage, to which the prince answer that he held them by gift of the king, and that he was not able to answer the petition without the king. Bohun sued to the king until the king ordered Saddington to assemble his justices and sergeants and others of his council, and the council of the prince to examine the business. The earl presented his evidence and nothing was found to bar his right upon which the justices and the others did not wish to do anything. The earl requests that the king order those of his council to do law and reason to the earl.
