Nature of request
The prior and convent and their burgesses of the town request that the king confirm their charter of liberties granted to them by the earl and confirmed by the king's progenitors with the clause licet, and also grant that they be freely able to sell tin, wool and other goods, and the sheriff make coin from their tin accepting their terms of payment which they have had before these hours and respecting their other liberties of quayage, passage and toll.
