Nature of request
Bloxham requests that sums owing to him for his expenses when he was keeper of the lands of the bishop of Coventry and Lichfield be allowed against the money that he owes from the remainder of his account for the taxation in Middlesex of which he was collector with Walter Crepyn, and that he is able to be discharged from such sums. He has already had writs to the treasurer and barons to make allowance but they have done nothing.

Note
The petition is dated on the guard presumably to the period after the death of Bishop Langton, with reference to SC 8/91/4508. However, the tax mentioned is that granted to Edward II in November 1322 during the York Parliament, commissions for which were issued on 2 December 1322. Bloxham accounted for this along with Crepyn's wife and son (Crepyn had died), presumably at some point after the second and final collection, due on 1 July 1323 (E 359/14, m.14d no.9). Presumably the document dates from the accounting period, probably in 1323 or 1324.
