Nature of request
Blakeburn states that the late earl of Lancaster granted her an annual rent to be taken from the vill of Preston for her life in allowance of her dower in Ingole, of which she was seised until John de Lancaster and William de Tatham, keepers of the lands in the county seized the rent into the king's hand by bad council in the eighteenth year of Edward II. She requests remedy.
Nature of endorsement
She should sue at the common law against the present earl of Lancaster.

The petition must date to 1327 and thereafter for the response to the petition makes reference to the 'present earl of Lancaster', and therefore refers to a time after the restoration of the estates of Thomas of Lancaster to his brother Henry, which did not occur until the parliament early in 1327.
