Nature of request
The petitioners request a remedy and that the king will command his will concerning their lands that were alienated by earlier priors some with and some without the king's licence, and which the escheator has taken into the king's hand, and dares not remove it without an order from the king. Their house is impoverished.
Nature of endorsement
The people of the country are to be ordered to examine the matter, and the tenants are to be warned to be in Chancery on a certain day to show by whose title they claim to hold these lands, and be further warned to be before the enquirers on the taking of the inquisition.

The petition dates to 1381 as the inquisition ordered in the response to this petition was held in late June 1321, and the series of writs ordering the restoration of the various alienated land date to the period 8-16 July 1321 (CIM 1307-49, no.450; CCR 1318-23, pp.386-8).
