Margaret shows that the king's great-grandfather granted to Thomas de Brotherton and his heirs from his body begotten 10,000 marks of suitable land within England. The king's grandfather assigned 6,000 marks to Brotherton from the lands and lordships which were Roger Bigod's in England, Ireland and Wales, and made a further grant of manors, lands and tenements to the value of 1,000 marks, which 1,000 marks worth of land the king's grandfather repossessed into his hands. Margaret requests that the king restores the manors, lands and tenements.

Note
The notes of the guard give a series of possible dates between 1377 and 1397, and suggest c. 1390. However, it may be closer to 1377, on the basis that it does not describe Margaret as countess, a title she adopted in that year. It must date from within the reign of Richard II.
