Nature of request
Bernard shows that he was ordered by the king to go with Nicholas Trimenel, then admiral of the sea of Scotland, and was captured and afterwards paid for his ransom £10 without any aid. He requests that the king grant to him the corrody which William Warin had until he died in the abbey of Malmesbury, since he cannot maintain himself because of the injuries he received in the king's service.
Nature of endorsement
He should have a writ of Chancery to John de Droxford and Robert de Cottingham that they should certify the council upon the contents of the petition, and of the damages which he sustained, and where it is best to provide for him, and the state and how much.
