- The people state that whereas by a grant by the council they are ousted from the rights, heritages, possessions and gifts by their Scottish adversaries against the virtue and force of their conditions made to them when they came to the king's peace, by which they have encroached many lands by which the king loses lordship and the custom from wool and other goods taken, so that they will not be able to endure unless the king ordain a remedy and restitution of their possessions, since they have not received it from the earls of March and Warwick deputed to the Marches.
