Nature of request
Thomas, son of John de Beek of Hilton, states that Peter, Prior of Tutbury sued an assize of novel dissesin against him and others concerning lands in Marston on Dove, and recovered them, and that he sued an attaint against the Prior, which has been pending for six years and is still delayed, because the Prior is an alien and his temporalities are in the king's hand, and because the tenements concerning which the attaint has been sued owe an annual farm at the Exchequer, so that the justices in the assize do not wish to proceed in the attaint without a writ: so he requests a writ to the justices to proceed.
