Nature of request
[Much of the right-hand side of this petition is missing.] Edmund de la Beche states that he renewed against the Prior of Lenton sixty . . . Common Bench, before whom the lands of the aliens were taken into the king's hand, and on this . . . Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, by which writ he was served of part of the debt, and now the said Sheriff has . . . remainder, for the reason that the Prior has produced a protection, that he has the keeping . . . at his pleasure. May it please the council to send a writ to the said Sheriff to make execution of the writ . . . the said protection, as he has undertaken the wardship of the said house with the charges.
Nature of endorsement
A writ is to be sent to the justices of the Bench, before whom the judgment was brought, that they are to order execution to be made of that judgment, notwithstanding the said commission or protection.

Dated on the guard to? 1337, with reference to the seizure of alien priories and the fact that the petitioner was then controller of the wardrobe. Edmund de la Beche was Controller of the Wardrobe 1335-7, and Keeper 1337-8.
