Nature of request
John de Beauchamp of Somerset states that Richard Broun of Halford, appointed to conduct armed footsoldiers for the king's wars in the county of Middlesex, in the company of John de Toucestre against Queen Isabella and Prince Edward, and against the estate of the realm, took certain of John de Beauchamp's men and tenants from his manor of Shepperton against their will, and led them with others to Bristol against the Queen and Duke, leaving the manor without protection and without husbandry, to his harm of £40. He requests a remedy.

Note
This petition is probably from the parliament of January 1327, as it favours the party of the Queen and the Duke of Aquitaine: but it is addressed to the king, who seems to be a different person from the Duke of Aquitaine. It seems likely that this merely reflects the confusion about the status of Edward III at this point, but the petition might be from late in 1326.
