Nature of request
The people of Bamburgh state that their town has often been destroyed by the Scottish wars in the past, and is now once more completely burnt down and destroyed, at a time when the Queen was staying in the castle there, and request that they might be pardoned the 26 marks which they owe the king for the coming Easter term, and also arrears of 20 marks, which they are paying in 6-mark instalments.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege et magno consilio.They are to be pardoned the 20 marks from the instalments, and the Treasurer and Barons are to be ordered that they are not to be molested because they broke the payment by instalments.

CCR 1333-7 p.209 is dated at York, 3 March 1334.Northumberland Petitions pp.199-200 (no. 177) states that Queen Philippa lodged at Bamburgh during the siege of Berwick in July 1333.
