Nature of request
Joan, widow of Ralph Basset of Drayton, states that Hugh de Meygnill has maliciously purchased an oyer et terminer against her and her servants, claiming that they broke into some buildings which are in fact hers, of her dower, and stole some goods and chattels there, in contravention of the statutes providing that an oyer et terminer should only be granted in cases of serious trespass, and before justices of one or the other bench. She requests that this oyer and terminer be suspended, and that a writ be sent to this effect to the justices assigned to hold it.

Since the commissions have been issued, they cannot be repealed in this manner.

CPR 1345-8 p.183 is dated at Windsor, 8 August 1346, and would appear to be the oyer et terminer about which the petitioner is complaining.CPR 1345-8 p.179 is dated at Windsor, 6 July 1346. It relates to one of the manors mentioned in the petition, although it is hard to see how it fits in.CCR1343-6 p.211 is dated at Westminster, 13 January 1344, and CCR 1346-9 p.112 is dated at Westminster, 3 October 1346.
