Nature of request
Philip de Barri, who has served the king in Scotland and all over Ireland, makes two requests:1) He asks to be released from the 20 marks which remain of a ransom asked for him, the rest of which he has paid.2) He requests the wardenship of Chester castle, for the fee which others have had previously.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege.The king has pardoned those 20 marks which are in arrears.With regard to the castle he is to go to the Justiciar.
