Henry de Baunebury requests payment for cloth bought from him for the king's father by John de Hustewayt, valet of the late king's wardrobe, in the twenty-third year of his reign, for which he has not been paid.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege.The Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer are to be ordered that, when they have seen the evidence he has for the debt and when they have searched the accounts, if they find that the king was served with the cloth they are to do what is right, and if they find that he was not, they are to have the parties called and do justice.

Dated on the guard to 'c. 1307 seq.', because of the reference to payments due in the twenty-third year of the late king's reign. A John de Hustewayt can be found in Edward II's service, mostly in Gascony, in the early years of his reign, as can be seen by references in the Patent and Close Rolls.
