- The Bishop of Bangor requests that he might be pardoned the tenth currently demanded from the clergy of his diocese, as he has been greatly impoverished by bad harvests, disease among his animals, by his continual stay at Bangor to provide aid and counsel to maintain the peace in those parts, as the king commanded him at Clipstone (and as he has done, and asks that it might be inquired into by all the English in those parts if it is not so), and his church at Bangor is greatly dilapidated, and its bell-tower burnt down.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- A note on the guard dates this petition to '? c. 1307, prob. temp. Ed. II' with reference to the words 'vostre mere': a figurative description by the bishop of the king's 'mother church' of Bangor (presumably because Edward II was born at Caernarfon, in Bangor diocese). The reign of Edward II seems likely from this, the hand and the French second endorsement, but it must be from later in the reign: the bishop claims to have remained in Bangor for some time at the king's command. The second date suggested of 'Poss. after 1320' with reference to Rot. Parl. vol. I p.379 seems much more likely, and indeed Petitions Relating to Wales, p.41 dates it as? 1320. Indeed, it is possible that the petition might be slightly earlier than the petition edited in Rot. Parl. vol. I p.379 (SC 8/331/15659), which would then be an alternative suggestion for the funding of repairs made as a result of the endorsement to this petition.As SC 8/326/E769 shows, the burning-down of the bell-tower took place some little time previously.
