Nature of request
The Abbot asks to be allowed to pay a debt owed to Gerard Gymbard of the company of the Lucca in annual instalments of 10 marks. This debt is in the king's hand like the other debts of the Lucca in Ireland, and he has made recognisance for it in the Dublin Exchequer. He asks this as his house has been impoverished by robberies by the Irish, as the Justiciar of Ireland and other lords of the land who are here know.
