King's council.
Nature of request
Alice, daughter of Adam de Arundell and Alice, daughter of Walter of Hemelsai, state that Adam de Arundell, whose heirs they are, leased certain lands in Atlow Cowton to the Master and brothers of the Temple for the term of thirty-one years - which term expired six years ago. The lands are now in the king's hand, because of the dissolution of the Order of the Temple, and Alice de Arundell and Walter de Hemelsai have sued to various parliaments for their return. Inquisitions have been held, and process duly followed in King's Bench as far as judgment, as can be seen from the process sewn to this petition. Alice and Alice now request a writ to the justices to proceed to judgment.
Nature of endorsement
The justices appointed to hold the King's pleas are to be ordered by writ of the great seal containing the effect of this petition that if the process before them is in such a state as the petition supposes, they are to proceed to judgment, notwithstanding that the tenements are in the king's hand, and that the aforesaid Walter has died during the process.

Note
CCR 1333-7 pp.422-423 is dated at Newcastle upon Tyne, 5 July 1335. Although there is a slight discrepancy in the dating (CCR 1333-7 pp.422-423 states that the lease expired four years ago, not six), this entry otherwise seems to match the petition, and would seem to be a consequence of it.
