Nature of request
Seint Botulf (Boston), [Lincolnshire]; Tickhill, [West Riding of Yorkshire] Nature of request: William de Aune states that he was given the office of the tronage in the port of Boston by Edward II, and also 40 marks of annual rent for term of his life, to be received from the castle and honour of Tickhill. He has been expelled from these, and he asks for justice to be done to him, in view of the late king's charters and confirmation.

Note
Both CCR 1327-30 p.258 and CPR 1327-30 p.238 are dated at York, 28 February 1328. They must be in response to this petition, which would probably have been presented at the parliament of February 1328.The original grant of 40 marks is dated at Westminster, 20 July, 1312 (CPR 1307-13 p.480), and the original grant of the tronage is dated at York, 20 February 1312 (CPR 1307-13 p.430).
